Who is an entrepreneur?
An entrepreneur is someone who is willing to take risks to starts and builds a business. An entrepreneur is someone who is creative and innovative and looks out for gaps of opportunities in the industry. Once the entrepreneur finds a gap she/he finds a way to create a new venture. A good entrepreneur is good at calculating and forecasting the risks involved. So if she/he sees that it’s an opportunity she/he goes for it.
To be considered a successful entrepreneur you don’t simply have to create a unique product.
You don’t have to create new products to be an entrepreneur but even adding value to what there is already in the market. Sometimes by being innovative and combine two things together you will be able to create an amazing and unique product. With the ever growing markets and industries, there are loads of opportunities for innovation so you just have to find that gap.
Apple, the most innovative company in the world!
Let’s take Apple, for an example. You’re not going to compete against their product because they have their deep roots in the market. Though, you can see an opportunity to develop an app, create accessories or even create a product compatible that goes with it. So instead of going against the big brands that are already established and have a huge influence in the market you go with the same wave they’re riding. Yes, it will be a smaller wave but who knows it might generate enough momentum to become bigger.
An entrepreneur is someone who fights his way through challenges and turns “CAN’T” into “How can I?”.
This mindset shapes you into a new human being and opens your mind to a creative energy. When you say I can’t you are listing yourself because you are making your brain stop thinking. But when you ask the question “How can I?” you will see a different shift in your thinking. Automatically your brain goes into thinking mode and tries to figure out how is it going to solve these problems/challenges hence finding a way to actually solve them. This is a great skill you must obtain and practice in order to be a successful entrepreneur.
“Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.” Henry Ford
As Henry Ford, founder of Ford Motor Company quoted; “When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the aeroplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” Being able to be creative is what is going to make you stand out from the crowd. Plus it will help you go beyond the capabilities of your competition.
Here is a list of some of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time:
- Steve Jobs – Apple Inc.
- Henry Ford – Ford Motors
- Bill Gates – Microsoft
- Walt Disney – The Walt Disney Company
- Elon Musk – Tesla Motors & Paypal
- Mark Zuckerberg – Facebook
